As part of Post No Bills' involvement with the Jr Olympic Skills Competition, a local YMCA is using the Team Rings as the centerpiece of a significant fund raising effort to benefit the YMCA's scholarship program awarded to athletic kids that cannot afford to join the Y. Mary Roe from the YMCA is featured in this local interview as she discusses the program and the Team Rings. They have a program goal to raise between $20,000 to $40,000 selling the wristbands. Mary has involved her entire community months before the actual competition by sending flyers to the local schools, keeping an inventory of Team Rings and issuing a press release and of course working the local media. Mary is the latest example of how the Team Rings can be used as a significant fund raiser for a local organization therefore benefiting both today's U.S. Athletes and tomorrow's. |

U.S. Olympic Team Rings to raise funds for the U.S. Figure Skating Memorial Fund |
Post No Bills, Inc is honored to work with U.S. Figure Skating and help raise funds for their Memorial Fund. A tragedy shook the figure skating world on February 15 in 1961 when Flight 548, carrying the U.S. World Figure Skating Team to the World Championships in Prague, crashed near Brussels, Belgium. All aboard were lost. To this day, when you hear their friends speak of the tragedy, they are overtaken with tears.
From this loss arose the U.S. Figure Skating Memorial Fund. This fund benefits all future figure skaters. Their mission is to provide qualified U.S. Figure Skating skaters in need of financial aid with monetary assistance to pursue their goals both inside and outside the competitive arena. The fund is committed to awarding skating and academic scholarships to those athletes who have demonstrated excellent competitive results and/or academic achievements and who have future potential in national and international competitions. On January 23, 2009 at the National Figure Skating Champions Memorial Fund Reception, 200 Team Ring bracelets were given to the attendees. Among the many great figure skating champions was Brian Boitano and Kristi Yamaguchi. Brian Boitano captured his first U.S. title in 1985 and the hearts of Americans. He went on to win two World titles and in 1988 Brian won the Olympic gold medal at the Calgary Winter Games. Boitano’s competitive record is unmatched. He has won more professional titles than any other skater in the history of the sport. Among those titles are six World Professional championships. In June of 2008, Brian was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Committee Olympic Hall of Fame. Kristi Yamaguchi is one of the most recognized athletes in the world today. She maintains a hold on America's heart for more than a decade after winning the Olympic gold medal at the 1992 Albertville Olympic Winter Games. Kristi is also a two-time World champion, U.S. champion and a four-time World Profession champion. Kristi was the first American to win the Olympic gold medal since Dorothy Hamill in 1976. She was named to the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame by U.S. Figure Skating Association and to the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1999. On December 8, 2005, Kristi was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Committee Hall of Fame. U.S. Figure Skating plans to launch this fundraising program at the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships, in Los Angeles in May 2009. The plan is to reach down into the club levels and offer the Team Rings bracelets to their members. All over the country, there are young skaters who dream of reaching their goal and skating at the Olympics. Proceeds from the Team Ring bracelets will directly benefit their dreams as well as our future Figure Skating Olympians. (*$1 will go directly back to the U.S. Figure Skating Memorial Fund and $2 will go to the U.S. Figure Skating organization that offers them.)

USA Softball "Bound 4 Beijing Tour" sold out Team Rings |
The KFC " Bound 4 Beijing tour " , started their journey on Feb 19, 2008 in Tucson, Arizona and stretched to every corner of the country. The Red, White and Blue reached the likes of Birmingham, Alabama and Stratford, Connecticut to Midland, Texas and Sacramento, California. Young softball players came out to see their favorite Team USA softball players, and lined up to seek the autographs and pictures of their favorite mentors.
The USA Softball Team wore their US Olympic Team Rings bracelets proudly, in hopes of raising funds and awareness for the 2008 Bound 4 Beijing tour. The Team Ring bracelets sold out on the 43 city tour as the young fans were able to buy theirs at ball fields around the country.
With a 59-1 overall tour record, the U.S. was poised, confident, and prepared to begin the battle that awaited them in Beijing. Being three-time defending Olympic Gold Medalists, the target was on their back with seven other teams waiting in wings to steal the coveted gold medal. -- Playing in the Olympics is no doubt a dream come true for all 120 athletes participating in the softball competition taking place here. However, walking into Fengtai Softball Field is sure to be most special for one young lady whose name won’t be seen on any team lineup.
Rachel Hanna, 16, of Grand Prairie, Texas (USA), will attend the USA vs. China game as part of her wish experience granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, wearing her U.S. Olympic team Ring bracelet. Rachel wished to attend the 2008 Olympics in Beijing so that she could watch the USA softball team compete in person. The International Softball Federation is providing passes to allow the necessary access for Rachel to have a meet-and-greet with the U.S. team.
"It’s the least we can do," said ISF President Don Porter. "I was pleased to learn that our sport was at the center of Rachel’s wish through the Foundation, although this whole experience is about her, not the ISF. We know that softball has touched millions of people in countless ways for years and years, and this is sure to be an opportunity for our game to reach someone deeply."
Not coincidentally, Rachel is a talented softball player who pitched as a freshman on the varsity team at Mansfield Timberview High School, before she was diagnosed with leukemia in 2007. She was unable to play this past spring while being treated for her illness. She first heard about the Make-A-Wish Foundation watching the highly popular "My Wish" stories that have appeared on television annually since 2006.
Rachel , pictured above wearing the Official US Olympic Team Rings while meeting the softball team, is one of 11 youths with life-threatening medical conditions who are being granted their wishes to attend the Beijing Olympic Games by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. |

Sharp’s Gymnastic Academy raises over $6,000.00 to send gymnast Bridget Sloan to the Olympic Games |
Bridget Sloan was born on June 23, 1992 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She began gymnastics in 1996. She has been doing gymnastics since age of 4.
At 4’11”, Sloan is noted by her coaches as the model of consistency as she performs and has the beautiful lines and precision that international judges love. After training for years, in March 2008, Sloan suffered a torn meniscus while warming up at a meet in Italy. She was forced to sit out the competition and returned home for surgery and rehabilitation. She recovered in time to compete at the 2008 U.S. National Championships, where she competed on beam and bars and the U.S. Olympic Trials.
On July 19th, less than one month to the Beijing Summer Games, Sloan was named to the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team. Back at Sharp’s Gymnastic Academy in her hometown of Pittsboro Indiana, the gym became alive with the knowledge that one of their own was heading to the Olympics!
“Our lives - at Sharp's Gymnastics Academy - were thrown into a whirlwind the moment we found out that our very own gymnast, Bridget Sloan and coach Marvin Sharp would be representing our country in the 2008 Olympic Games as members of the US Olympic Women's Gymnastics Team! Our goal - at Sharp's - was to do all we could to help the Sloan family raise enough money to make the trip to Beijing so they could enjoy the Olympic experience with their daughter and sister,” said Sande Huber of Sharp’s Gymnastics. “One of our mother's was able to get connected with Doreen Sullivan, owner of Post No Bills, Inc and the sales began!! The Team Rings bracelets sold themselves! Knowing that we were able to help the Sloan family, the US Olympic Gymnastics Team and our own booster club was a great feeling.”
Sloan turned 16 on June 23 but hasn't had time to fit driver's education into her busy schedule. Bridget said, “I would much rather have not driven and go to the Olympic Games” Her motto is, "Anything can happen, and everything happens for a reason." Off the competition floor, along with the Team Ring bracelets, Sloan wears a necklace of her own that spelled out the word 'dream'. At the Olympics, Sloan competed in both the qualifying and team final rounds of competition. Her contributions to the team became critical in the qualifying round. In the team finals, Sloan competed on vault, contributing a 15.200 score to her dream of being part of the American team's silver medal win.
Pictured is Bridget Sloan with her Silver Medal along with teammates from Sharps Gymnastic Academy. |

Post No Bills Raises over $100,000 for Team USA |
In life, there are those in search of excellence—people who reach higher, push harder and constantly raise performance levels. Nothing exemplifies this spirit more than our Olympic athletes. Inspired by this dedication to performance, Post No Bills, a creative agency in Columbia, SC created a fundraiser to benefit the USOC that recently reached the $100,000 donation mark.
Unlike other countries that fully fund their athletes, Team USA must constantly look for innovative ways to raise funds in the quest to train and travel athletes. The Official US Olympic Team Rings were developed to meet the needs of our Olympic hopefuls. One dollar ($1) from the sale of each set of Team Rings goes directly to the USOC to support the training and development of Olympic, Paralympic and Junior Olympic athletes. People can still help fund our Olympic athletes by visiting www.usolympiccollection.org and purchasing Team Rings.
These sets of trendy red, white and blue wristbands are creating a new wave in cause marketing, raising awareness and vital funding for our Olympians. Teams Rings are a unisex product that comes in both youth and adult sizes. National Governing Bodies including USA Gymnastics, Equestrian, Field Hockey and Softball are currently using Team Rings to raise funds.
Created by the entertainment marketing experts at Post No Bills, each wristband carries the Olympic slogan, “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” The white band is in English, the blue one is in Greek representing the home of the Olympics and the red one is in Chinese for the 2008 Games in China. These fashion-forward wristbands are joined by a stainless steel clasp featuring the USA five-ring logo and the 2008 U.S. Olympic team theme, “Amazing Awaits,” with “Beijing 08-08-08” on the back. Individual citizen participation is crucial to the success of the Team Rings program, so we are asking that you consider including this program in any Olympic coverage you have planned. So far, this program has raised more than $100,000 for the USOC and sales will continue through to the Winter Games in Vancouver. Please mention Team Rings on your website news and if possible, provide the link to www.usolympiccollection.org. People can select which team they would like to see receive an extra donation when they order off the website.
Team Rings brings awareness to our Olympic athletes and shows the world that the wearer cares about Team USA. Thank you for your consideration of this vital fundraising program for the United States Olympic Committee. I’m happy to speak with you about this programs’ success and which Olympic athletes and sports are benefiting the most, such as Team USA Women’s Field Hockey. I have included the official media release from the USOC on the Post No Bills donation, two images of athletes wearing Team Rings and one of the product front and back. |
